You might have wondered at some point how some people just have that perfect, silky, commercial-worthy hair. Especially, when your hair looks like a bundle of dead strands or is so wild and out of control, that you struggle to put it into a bun every morning. Don’t worry we have some great tricks and tips to help you achieve shiny and healthy hair. Here are some simple and easy steps to follow.
Do you have frizzy, bleached, curly or straight hair? Well, you don’t need to worry because these steps can be applied to any type of hair. So, here are the basic steps.
Maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Keeping your hair healthy also means maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Our hair is a part of our body so we need to eat the right kind of food, especially foods that are rich in vitamin C and E. I bet you didn’t know that too little biotin can cause you to have brittle hair and even hair loss. Try eating foods that are good sources of biotin like egg yolks, liver, soy flour and whole grains. It’s also vital to avoid and lessen stress factors that may affect your daily life. One thing to note is that stress can cause hair loss, among many other things. It’s important to have a positive outlook and to be able to channel whatever negativity you may experience in this life.
Do NOT use Shampoo every day.
You may have thought that shampooing your hair every day will make your hair healthier. Well, this has actually been proven to damage your hair. What happens, is that your hair will not produce the natural oils it requires to keep it healthy. So it’s strongly advised to only use shampoo every other day or less if possible. It’s also best if you use a shampoo that has natural ingredients and is recommended for your hair type.
Quick Tip: When applying a shampoo, lather onto your scalp so the nutrients will be absorbed. A quick three-minute massage also helps to detoxify your scalp.
Make it a habit to trim your hair regularly.
At some point, you may have had troubles with those little buggers known as split ends. They are obviously a pain because they can cause you to have dull hair. So trimming your hair regularly is one of the best tips we can give you. Trim your hair at least ¼ of an inch above your split ends if you want to achieve bouncy and healthier looking hair.
Avoid dyeing your hair more than once a year.
If you are a fan of hair dye, it’s highly discouraged to dye your hair too often. Bleaching your hair will also cause dryness and damage, because of the chemical ingredient, hydrogen peroxide. Dye your hair only as an occasional treat instead. Try using coconut oil as a hair conditioning treatment.
Dry your hair properly.
It’s a general rule to let your hair dry naturally and not to use a blow dryer because hair, in general, is more prone to damage when exposed to heat. If you badly need to dry your hair, set the blow dryer on the lowest heat setting possible. Use a cotton towel when drying your hair instead of a rough quality towel. Remember to avoid brushing your hair while it’s still wet. This makes it prone to breaking. If you come home from a party and you’ve used hair spray, wash it out with warm water, and let it air dry before you go to bed for the night.
Brush your hair regularly.
Brushing your hair regularly stimulates the follicles found in your scalp which will promote hair growth. But keep in mind that if you over brush your hair it will result in breakage, split ends, and frizzy hair. Additionally, after a bath, it’s advised that you use a wide toothed comb or your fingers to brush your hair because wet hair is frail and prone to breaking.
Use a high-quality brush.
Your hair is your crowning glory so invest wisely and use only a good, high-quality hair brush. Choose a detangling hair brush that is uniquely designed with multiple height bristles and alternating rows to effortlessly detangle your unwanted knots.
There is no need to panic when you are experiencing some hair loss. It’s actually normal to lose about one hundred strands of hair per day.
Healthy hair is not achieved overnight but prevention is always better than a cure. What I mean by saying that is “do not wait for your hair to be damaged before you follow these steps. Because sometimes it’s already too late to save your hair.” Follow a healthy lifestyle, stay hydrated and avoid using harmful chemicals that cause your hair to be dry. Stick to shampoos that are made of natural ingredients and use a high-quality brush. Isn’t that simple? Remember, life is short! Make each hair flip fabulous! Be Bold, Be Beautiful! Bella Eleganze!
