Unruly tangles and rough hair usually happens when the hair is damaged from constant hair pulling of damaging combs. It is also caused by over styling due to heat applied on hair. It is best to opt for hair tools that won’t damage your hair like Bella Eleganze’s The Brush. Avoid heat styling when you can and reserve this for special occasions. Instead of buying store bought softening sprays, why not make your own so you know exactly what’s in it? Plenty of hair products in the market today have harsh chemicals that will cause unnecessary damage to your already weakened hair. There are many natural options and one of them is this fantastic DIY Hair Detangling and Softening Spray recipe that we urge you to try.
What you’ll need:
1.5 cups of filtered water
3 tablespoons of marshmallow root
2 tablespoons of conditioner of your choice
10 drops of your favorite essential oils
Here’s a great tutorial of this winning recipe by Kaylee Melissa:
First step is put the 1.5 cups of filtered water in a pot.
Next, mix 3 tablespoons of marshmallow root.
Bring this to a boil then reduce the heat. Let it simmer for 15 to 20 minutes. Let cool and prepare to strain.
Using a cheese cloth or a mesh strainer, separate all the impurities that may have formed due to the residue of the marshmallow root. Add 2 tablespoons conditioner and your favorite essential oil until you get the right scent. In this video, grapefruit essential oil was used.
Grab a spray bottle and pour the mixture.
Mix well and use! This potion will make your hair smell great, while it softens and detangles your hair. It will keep for a month so enjoy and spray away!
